Question MISGUIDED by Suse's help

Hi guys, after installing Suse 9.3 in dual boot with xp, Suse installation went fine and beautiful by the way, everything recognized, or so it seems, even my wireless card, yast says it's fine, but doesn't work, am having this problem configuring my acx111 chipset based wireless card, Suse's help tells me to do this:

"The approach for ACX100 based cards is similar to the PrismGT one. You can download a vendor driver package or use the driver CD. The needed firmware files are usually called 'WLANGEN.bin', 'RADIO0d.BIN', and 'RADIO11.BIN'. Copy them to '/lib/firmware', and make sure to rename 'WLANGEN.bin' to 'WLANGEN.BIN'. For ACX111 the files are probably named 'FwRad16.bin'and 'FwRad17.bin' or similar."

ok, so, I did it, but I get this error while trying to do it:
"Access Denied. Could not write to /lib/firmware/nameofthefile.bin"
same thing with the two files, so I tought it was an accounts issue, so I restarted as a root, but no luck either, so trying to work this out, I restarted with the knoppix cd, but same thing, same error, WHAT'S GOING ON, am I doing something wrong, am I missing something, I just want to put two files on the "/lib/firmware/" folder but I can't do it, please help me!!!

Well, lets first make sure that /lib/firmware actually exists and has the correct permissions. Jump into /lib and post the output of ls -l (you really only need to post the firmware entry)
