madwifi and wep


When i connect to my router with wep it takes ages to connect to my access point minutes rather than seconds.If i iwlist ath0 ap my access point is there and the link quality is fine as im only 10 feet from my router.Any ideas how to speed it up ?? Im using the latest madwifi drivers and using a script to connect

#!/bin/bash
iwconfig ath0 essid "my_essid"
iwconfig ath0 key 1234567 open

However, I just switched to WPA authentication via wpa_supplicant. It was a lot easier to setup than I thought it would be. Look here:

cheers Quakeboy02 thats sorted my problem out by just adding the channel number in my script.
