I am trying to connect my laptop (Acer Travelmate 292 LMi Centrino) through a wireless accesspoint (Linksys WAP-54G) to the internet but it does not work. I have called Linksys but they only say that they do not support Linux. Also there is no linux driver on the CD-rom. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
I do not know if this is helpful, but as a general comment, I had a linksys WAG54G with Mandrak 9.2 trying to connecting to it via wired first. It didn't work until I switched off the built in firewall. Could try that I guess ?
I do not use mandrake's firewall and I think I found out know that the problem is, that there is no linux driver available yet for my network card. So maybe the solution would be to get another network card or??
this is specifically for the card that i use but in principal it should be similar for you, you still need ndiswrapper but instead of using the inf file for dlink650 you need the Microsoft windows drivers for your particular card
