Internet sharing problems w/fedora core 2

Hi all.. I am fairly new to Linux, with all of my experience coming from my yearly 3 or 4 week delve into it. I wanted to keep up a permanent Teamspeak server so I got fedora core 2, installed it and made it my internet gateway. I have XP running on my main machine, but occasionally i lose connectivity to the internet on the XP machine and have to rerun the rc.ipmasq script to get it going again. I think i remember some timeout from ages ago, but not sure where it is. I am connected to my linux box with a crossover cable. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
