Hi All,

i have ubuntu 10.04 LTS arch i686. i had earlier posted a forum stating that secured connection on my laptop does not work. Now the problem has taken new level. i get problem connecting to even unsecured connection.

From the menu option of network manager, i goto network manager, i select connect to hidden network. in this i select any auto network which is unsecured, but no network access takes place.

But when i restart 1/2 times the system the network gets connected, sometimes automatically!!!

Please tell what results of command should i post to give solution to this problem..

Sounds like you're trying to connect to wifi that doesn't broadcast SSID. That right?
Is the access point unsecured?
If it has no SSID and unsecured and you connect automatically then it's possible that there are two access points not broadcasting their SSID. In that case sometimes you get connected to the unsecured and sometimes you are denied as the other one is secure. All speculation as you haven't given enough details yet.

Time traveler, please tell me the specific commands whose results need to be posted herein, as i am new to networking environment...
