Have you considered upgrading to a later openSUSE release? 10.3 Alpha 1 just went public, but does not allow me to connect to any WiFi yet even though it appeared to load ipware2200. {My wired Gb ethernet and USB connections work fine in 10.3 A1}. I recommend 10.2, as very stable & nicer than 10.1, detects & connects to any WiFi signal in range, have not had any problems when moving round, shifts seemlessly to next in range signal!
btw, #1q Did you ASK if Dell (#2q which OS was installed?) will still warranty your LT/NB when GNU/Linux installed?? Just told by BestBuy & CircuitCity warranties are voided!! Good Luck, d8d
