Installing the ndiswrapper-module package

I am very close to getting my wireless card to work, but I have run into a problem. I am using this guide to set up ndiswrapper on Sarge, but when i get to the step that is supposed to load the module with
Code:
insmod lib/modules/`uname -r`/misc/ndiswrapper.ko
I get this error:
Code:
insmod: can't read '/lib/modules/2.6.8-2-686/misc/ndiswrapper.ko': No such file or directory
The misc/ director exists inside of that path. I don't know where ndiswrapper.ko is coming from or if it exists, but I have followed the directions word for word so far.

Anyone have any ideas for me?

Thanks.

To be honest, you probably will have better luck if you follow the instructions on the ndiswrapper wiki. Since ndiswrapper is a kernel module, unless the Debian package is made specifically for your kernel, it may not work. The good news is that ndiswrapper is very easy to compile and install without going the apt-get route.

The problem is I don't see my card in that list. It is a Realtek 8169 I believe.

Also, you may want to fix up that link a little bit.

You might want to double check that. The Realtek 8169 is a 1GB ethernet device. At least that is where it is in the kernel config and that suggests that it isn't a wireless card.
