I've made changes to DSR in NS2 , but when I run the simulation nothing has changed

I've made changes to somefile in DSR Routng protocole in NS2, but when I run the simulation nothing has changed.
for example I've wrote some fprintf(stdout,"*****") in everywhere in dsragent.cc file or in mobicache.cc file but after compile again, nothing has print!
how to compile dsr routing protocol?
