Question How can install a Realtek Semiconductor 8185 wireless card?


Hello, everybody!
I've an old notebook with a Realtek Semiconductor 8185 PCMCIA wireless card. But I can not install it. I'm needing some help with this, please. Some outputs are in the following text.

I installed Xubuntu and it recognized the wireless network card.

Hi!
Now I'm having another problem. This notebook locks two seconds some minutes later that a do the first ping or connection to a web site. Then the wireless doesn't work anymore. I have to turn the notebook off and on, and then it works again.
Very rare!

This notebook is not mine. My friend has it in his home. I didn't take a look yet, but he uses UNIX and know is learning Linux (Xubuntu).

What does /var/log/syslog and /var/log/messages say about the lockups?
