HostAP and procfs

I bought a D-Link DWL-650 Rev P PCMCIA card for my laptop running Yellow Dog Linux 3.0.1 (should be similar to RH 8 or 9). Driver compilation, etc. seems to have worked, but upon setup steps I get messages saying something's missing.

I'm using the HostAP drivers. I can get all of the modules loaded, but when I try to do something involving wlan0 it gives me a message saying "Host AP driver data for device wlan0 not found in procfs."

For example:
Code:
$ hostap_fw_load wlan0
Host AP driver data for device wlan0 not found in procfs.
I have found the card at '/proc/device-tree/bandit/ti1130/pccardb,7110/'.

I looked in /proc/net/hostap and found nothing. Does anyone else using the HostAP drivers have something in that folder? Any ideas as to what the problem is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I seem to have figured out part of the problem. It was as dumb as I forgot to edit the /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia file to turn on pcmcia.

So far I still don't have the HostAP drivers working, but the linux-wlan drivers are somewhat working. My router has my wireless card registered and I can ping the router from the wireless card, but for some reason it will not route requests for outside resources.

At least it seems to be partially working. Now I can blame the router.
