Question fedora core 2 doesn't detect my belkin wireless apater

Does anyone know how to get my belkin wirelss adapter (F5D6050) to work in Fedora core 2? When I try to add and configurate my wireless adapter through the Network Device control, I couldn't find the atmel driver in the drop down list. Can anyone answer my question? I really appreciate for the hlep from someone.

Hey, I tried.

Enter the command "dmesg" (without quotes, obviously) into a terminal. Post output here.

I followed the instructions using Atmel...

Hi..

I recently downloaded the Fedora core 2 2.6.x ISO and installed it on my notebook, and wanted to work it with my Belkin F5D6020 ver.2 card. Apparently ver 2 and ver 3 are using different chipsets so becareful!

I chanced upon this website -> www.houseofcraig.net/atmel_guide.php and followed the instructions. Stopped somewhere allong "manually configure the interface" and wanted to continue the next day.. But now, my kernel seems to be screwed - startx doesn't work, screen flickers, and I can't even do a text login...

spent more than 5 hours doing this.. and getting further and further away from getting it to work and looks like need to reinstall fedora. Seem to be exhausted trying to get this damn card to work.. This distro seems very counter-productive to get a simple thing in windows to work, ain't it?

Any suggestions or people who've done Fedora Core 2 with the above card pls let me know.
Thanks...

Are you getting any errors. Which login manager are you using and does that still work?

Okie...

Thanks to Craig, he pointed out that my system freezing was linux' way of telling me that my disk if full. Did a df and found that it really was the case.
So I repartitioned and reinstalled Fedora, and followed the instructions again.

I'm now at the point where myiwconfig can detect the Access Point, shows it's MAC address, but the ifconfig doens't know where to go.
Apparently I've to set the Gateway to the IP address of the Aceess Point. Can anybody confirm this?

If that's the case, is there a more automated way of getting round this problem? I really want to try to use my Belkin on Fedora at a hotspot, for example.. And be able to move around. All this configuration exercise is cumbersome and still doens't solve this problem.
