I am from slackware, not sure if Fedora is too different. But you can try the following. OK if your wireless card is working fine, you should see a list of available networks when you give the command:
#iwlist wlan0 scan
If you found your network in the list, then enter:
#iwconfig wlan0 essid "yournetwork"
If your network has a WEP key, append "key YOURKEY" at the end of the previous command. Finally, to automatically get the IP address from your router give:
#dhcpcd wlan0
Your wireless should be connected to your network now.
