I'm going crosseyed looking for similar & recent posts.
I have a Broadcom chipset on a wireless card & don't know how to connect.
lspci | grep Broadcom
00:09.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)
Linuxwireless.org has helped me through b43-fwcutter and installing b43legacy driver. I'm relatively satisfied I have the 4603 rev 2, and I don't need ndis.
I'm still struggling with iwconfig.
my access point refuses to be anything but not-associated. Is this OK or not?
I am unsuccessful with setting the MODE -- all values I tried from the MAN page are invalid, and which mode would I want anyway?
If they're interesting:
iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
wmaster0 no wireless extensions.

dmesg returns many instances of the following...it should be noted all my SSID, channel and key information disappear on reboot.
[ 7054.345846] b43legacy-phy0 warning: Unexpected value for chanstat (0x7C00)
This if nothing else is the question in my post. What can I do about this?
Is it because the ssid, channel & key info is defaulted?
