centos 5 wireless help
Hey everyone.. I'll start off by saying I really don't know anything about linux. So if you respond please talk to me like I'm retarded. I installed CentOS 5 on my laptop it's a Compaq Presario R3000. I have no problems with my internet working on my lan card, but I can't get my wireless card to work. It's a Broadcom BCM4306, It showed up when I installed CentOS 5 I thought I would just put in the encryption info and it would work. I put in the info and it still wont detect the network. I have tried to search the web and some forums for some help but I don't really understand some of the solutions I found. One response I saw said that the firmware needs to be installed? Another said that bcm43xx module has to be installed? Then another said to install ndiswrapper and use the driver through that or something. I just need to figured out which I need to do, and how to do it. Thanks for all your help.
