Can't get Linkys Wireless card to work.

I have Ubuntu 6.10 installed on my laptop and I can't figure out how to get Linux to use my wireless card. I tried different sites to get this problem fixed, but I just think that I can't understand the Linux language. Am I screwed seen as I don't understand the Linux lingo? I am used to Windows just finding and using it, but I can't get Windows installed on my laptop. Please help

You're not likely to get very far, either.

We don't know what make/model laptop, make/model/chipset of the wireless card, what symptoms or errors.

If you don't know the chipset of the card, run lspci -v (assuming it's a cardbus or mini-PCI card) to see what's on the bus.

Post the relevant parts of lsmod, iwconfig and ifconfig.
