anyone play with aircrack before? can't crack my own WEP

Hey guys,

Has anyone here played with aircrack before? I've been trying to crack my own 128-bit WEP key but can't seem to do it.

I've seen several docs say that cracking the key should be gaurenteed with 2 million IV's, but is crackable with as little as 200,000

I have 3 computers on my wireless network, I set 1 into monitor mode, and I generate ping packets with a .0001 interval between the other two computers. This generates about 5 million packets in a couple minutes. The computer set in monitor mode captures the data with tcpdump in pcap format with full packet payload.

I then try to crack my WEP key on my 3.25GHz machine with:
Code:
aircrack -a 1 -e myessid -p 2 -f 2 data
It says I got 2699788 IVs when aircrack starts

it runs and runs but never seems to find the key... i thought that with so many IV's it would crack it in seconds.

Anyone else ever play with it?

Thanks!
George

I'm also curious about this, I've tried it with my own WEP but didn't work for me, figured I was doing something wrong, but I wanted to check how secure the WEP really was. Hope someone knows this.. would help me out as well

Have you tried their own forums yet?
http://forum.tinyshell.be/

This subject falls into the "cracking" category and is against LQ rules, so we don't want any further discussion here, thanks.
