having a physical mail server which is running for very few users and dont need a huge server for that application. In RHEL 5.8. To migrate it to a virtual server (Red Hat virtualization ) do i need to install zimbra and config users or can i follow the below steps.
first have to deploy the OS rhel 5.8,
use dd if=physical of=backupdisk and
dd if=backup of=virtualdisk.
then ip config. is these are the steps or if any please share as i'm doing this activity for first time, need suggestions
You don't mention which versioon of Zimbra is in use but I'd recommend you take a look at ZeXtras Migration Tool, it's easy to use, it's free and it works a treat. You could also take a look at some of the official methods on the ZImbra wiki or some of the many form threads on this topic in the official Zimbra support forums.
