Then it's likely you missed a step in the installation where you should have added a boot loader to the main hard drive.

I'm on Manjaro Openbox and the guest is PC-BSD10.
EDIT:using Graphical install
EDIT2:I managed to get out of the loop by unticking CD for bootup, but then it halts after a few seconds; I'll investigate further tomorrow and mark solved if I find what the problem is. Desperate for some night rest first ;-)
EDIT3:I (finally) found out how to remove it by clicking Remove disk from virtual
