Virtual-box Windows 10 guest addtions

Hello everyone,

I have installed windows 10 on a VM in Vbox on a Sabayon system. I am trying to install the Guest Additions to said VM but every time I do the screen turns black and I can no longer see what is going on with the VM.

I would like to know if anyone else has windows 10 in a VM and has installed the Guest Additions and got it to work or if anyone knows where I need to start looking to fix the problem.

Thank you in advance.

A web search for "guest-additions windows 10" will turn up a lot of links. I glanced at some of them. Apparently, the version of Windows 10 you are running is important to answering your question.

I have seen most, if not all, of these. My problem is no matter what I try the screen still goes black and that is my problem.

What version of VirtualBox are you running?
Have you tried installing the guest additions in safe mode (assuming Windows 10 still has a safe mode)?
