Post Linux reboots during kdump

Hi everyone,

Sorry if I am posting this in wrong thread.

I am running a custom linux kernel version 2.6.32 as a guest on VMWare ESXi.
I have two vCPUs configured with 4GB of memory. It is working fine.

But when I run the same Linux on Microsoft Hyper-V, I am getting a problem when there is a crash.

I have enabled kdump using kexec tools. When there is a crash (triggered manually using sysrq), the box just reboots after some kernel messages.

I can see this log in dmesg,
Code:
64 Processors exceeds NR_CPUS limit of 32
Also,
Code:
SMP alternatives, Switching to UP code
.
.
Total of 1 Processors activated
I have enabled CONFIG_NR_CPU =32 and SMP in my .config file.
Why it is saying 64 Processors? /proc/cpuinfo is showing 2 processors only.

This problem is not consistent.

Could someone help on why kdump is not working in my kernel?
These logs are not coming on VMWARE ESXi Host.

Thanks in advance,
Saleem
