KVM Guest Shutdown fail

sudo shutdown now FAIL
sudo virsh shutdown [guestname] FAIL
VMM guest shut down FAIL

finally VMM force off did it.

How can I safely shutdown a Guser by script, eg. virsh?

I don't know what's a Guser, but if the VM doesn't want to shut down, there is no way to stop it safely. VMM force off is probably the same as virsh destroy, which just switches the VM off, like disconnecting power on a physical server.

You need to find out what prevents your VM from shutting down, perhaps a service that doesn't want to stop?

...additionally, FAIL is not a good problem description.

I scanned the logs but did not find anything exceptional.
Probably
virsh destroy
is the solution.
Thankyou berndbausch
