Issues installing Ubuntu 14.04 on Xen-Debian 7.5 Wheezy

For a couple days now I have been searching the countryside trying to find a solution to install a PV instance of Ubuntu 14.04. I have tried a variety of ways, using xm and virt-install, and making sure the virtual kernel is selected, partitioning as ext3, (all by the text-based installer) but in the end run whenever it is finished installing or I try to boot it up I get:
Code:
ERROR: Boot loader didn't return anything! #not exactly verbatim
Is there any tips or tricks to get it running? Or something I am just missing? Right now I am just trying to install a headless Ubuntu server instance, and eventually one with a GUI.

Thanks!

I have been successful getting 13.10 installed as PV guest. I tried updating 13.10 to 14.04 and I still suffer from the same problem. Could it be the kernel update? I have had that issue on previous installs.

You should open file
Code:
/usr/lib/xen-4.1/lib/python/grub/GrubConf.py
After the lines 432 and 433

Code:
                    if arg.strip() == "${saved_entry}":
                        arg = "0"

You should add:

Code:
                    elif arg.strip() == "${next_entry}":
                        arg = "0"
