I have an ACER Switch 3 laptop / tablet. I sent it out to 3 different techs to have Zorin OS installed into it but each time the techs were unsuccessful.
The last tech was a Linux guy and he told me that ACER and some other companies now have systems that only accept Microsoft operating systems and mostly windows 10.
I contacted Zorin and was told it can be done but I have not been able to have it installed.
Is there something I am missing or is this actually not
possible to do?
Recent Acer computers with pre-installed windows systems require you to set 'trust' in the BIOS before installing another OS so you will have to explore the BIOS for the correct option.
Is there a procedure a person could follow to install this system or is the trust setting the only thing that is needed to install the OS. Is the trust setting hard to find?
On my google chromebooks. A write protect switch is in front of bios chip. It needs to be disabled before bios can be changed . Not sure if Acer has this setup like this or not. Just mentioning this.
