Yahoo Messenger Chat Problem

HI GUYS,

I recently got Yahoo Messenger for Linux.
Though the interface is really good......, but where the 'Chat' option??

I cant see it anywhere.This means that we can only talk to peeps already in our friend list.
This is a big hole!!

Is there any Program through which i can use Yahoo Messenger??

Please Help!!

How can i use gaim to connect to Yahoo Messenger??
Does it offer the CHAT utillity that's missing in Y! Msngr for Linux??

I don't think we can have chat in gaim
and what is that new messenger in yahoo
yahoo messenger is not working in linux from the past 6 months I guess
better use gaim .....
Iam under a proxy.. I use port number as 119 instead of 5050 or whatever is the default
tell me if it works
