Exclamation Xnest Linux and Solaris

I've been using Xnest to remotely login to my Solaris box from Debian Etch unstable, but when I tried to login using CDE, it took me back to the login screen. My guess is that Xnest uses graphics librarys on the local computer to display what's being shown from the remote computer. Can anyone confirm this is true? I have the Gnome Gtk libraries in Linux to run JDS in Solaris, but none to run CDE.

No.
Xnest doesn't make use of CDE libraries to display the CDE desktop, nor does it use gtk libraries to run JDS.

Have a look at the CDE logs, in ~/.dt/startlog and ~/.dt/errorlog to see why the session fails.
