XMGL - OpenGL applications running inside Virtual Machines.

(Note: I couldn't find any other posts on this, hopefully I didn't miss them. Also, I've decided to post in this Software forum as this isn't only about Games, but also any other OpenGL application.)

Quote:
OpenGL apps running inside a Virtual Machine (VM) can use VMGL to take advantage of graphics hardware acceleration. VMGL can be used on VMware guests, Xen HVM domains (depending on hardware virtualization extensions) and Xen paravirtual domains, using XVnc or the virtual framebuffer. Although we haven't tested it, VMGL should work for qemu, KVM, etc. VMGL is available for X11-based guest OS's: Linux, FreeBSD and OpenSolaris. Finally, VMGL is GPU-independent: we support ATI, Nvidia and Intel GPUs.

Well, we're slowly getting closer! Although it isn't an elegant solution such as cedega/wine (they themselves aren't as elegant as native linux games (or ported by the company)!) since it still requires an install of another OS for the Virtual Machine, we're still getting closer so people can at least play their games, which for a lot of people is the only reason why they're still dual booting with windows.
