XMame with Xfce

Hi,

I have a little problem I just can't seem to work out.

I have XMame installed on my Debian Etch install. While I was using the Gnome desktop, it worked perfectly. All roms will run and I can play the games.

A while ago, I installed Xfce 4.4, and now the roms will not start. I just get a blank error box on the screen.

If I log back into a Gnome session, it all works again.

It is only when I am in an Xfce session that it fails.

I assume there is something in a Gnome session that is not used in Xfce and this is preventing XMame from working.

I have tried setting Xfce to load gnome services at start up, but this makes no difference.

Does anyone have an idea what I may need to do to get XMame working under Xfce???

Thanks.

SOLVED

With Xmame and GXMame, you can set a default path to look for Roms, so you only need to start the rom from the command line with xmame "romname", and the default paths in the config file will be searched.

Under Xfce, it appears this config file is ignored, meaning xmame cannot locate the roms.

I have created script launchers for the roms using the absolute path to the rom and all works fine now.
