try going into xine's video setup configuration. right click on the player and choose Settings > Setup. click the video tab. there's a dropdown list of drivers in the video driver to use. try out the specifying the video driver for xine to use. my guess is to try out the xv driver.
if you don't see anything there for choosing the video driver, click the gui tab and change the experience level from beginner to master of the known universe and then try the video tab again.
