yep -- looks like the code is broken for gcc4
gcc people are for good reason letting us get away with less and less crappy code but it makes having the newest compiler quite a chalenge
try the patched source rpm or the patched binaries
http://stentz.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=339
or google for the patch
i couldn't find it

or try to fix the code - after years of getting away with some bad code figuring out whats wrong is quite a chalenge but we must defer to the gcc people as they are the guys with the most code foo

I remember having the same problem with Fedora core 4, x86_64 platform. I did get it to compile. I needed gtk2-devel, pango-devel, gtk-devel, maybe a few other devel type libs (the i386 type).

Also in my case since I needed to compile in 32 bit mode, (some codecs like wmp are still only 32 bit ), I had to send the following commands before compiling:

export CC="gcc -m32"

, and

export LD_FLAGS = '-L/usr/X11R6/lib'

Botton line gcc4 works.

Hope this helps.

Regards

You could just get xine rpms from xines nightly builds page.
