xine install problems


well, i am having some problems installing xine...i ran ./configure on the xine-lib file and it semed top work fine, then when i try to type ./make install it doesn't work....i am a total newbie so its probably an easy fix, but i need some help

you need to run make before you run make install

./configure

make

make install (this needs to be run as root)

when i type make it gives me the error :bash: make: command not found

i think you need to install make or automake

have a look on the install cd's

well i installed make and automake and now when i run make install it gives me this stuff:

p.s. when i run make it gives me a ton of code before those errors

eek!

i'm afraid that is beyond me,

if you don't get any further help on this then i suggest you repost the problem as "make errors" or "xine make arrors" so people browsing the forum know at what stage the problems are occurring

hope you get it sorted
