Xine wont believe that I have a disk in the dvd-rom drive
I use fedora core one and I have installed xine. When ever I click the dvd button on the control menu bar and try to get it to play dvd's this error message comes up: - xine engine error -
There is no input plugin available to handle
'dvd:/'.
Maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source doesnt exist.
When I click the more button it says for the video output that it is throwing away the image with points xxxxx (numbers replacing the x's) because it s to old. Also another error message comes up which says:
The source can't be be read.
Maybe you dont have enough rights for this, or
source doesnt contain data ( e.g: not disc in drive). (/dev/dvd)
Have I sat an incorrect path to the drive. The site where I downloaded the rpms which was cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/ wrote to enter the command ln -s /dev/cdrom/ /dev/dvd/ which I have done but it doesnt work. It will not acknowledge the fact that dvd is in the drive.
