XeTeX problem with math mode

Hello,

On my "business"/university machine, I am using Mepis 8.0 and I am going to produce my diploma thesis on this with XeTeX.

However, when I compile any document containing math mode parts, the Greek characters and some mathematical characters are not displayed in the final pdf.
I ran "apt-get install texlive-full" to install TexLive 2007 from Lenny repository including the texlive-xetex package.

When I do the same on my private computer, which runs plain Debian Lenny (without Mepis additionals), even with installing the same packages in the same versions from the same repository (even the same mirror), everything works fine.

I suppose this is a font issue, but I have no idea how to figure it out.
Any help is appreciated

Best,
Christoph

PS: Before I forget, here is a minimal working, or not properly working, respectively, example:
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{xltxtra}
\setmainfont[Mapping=tex-text]{DejaVu Sans}
\begin{document}
$$D=\varepsilon\varepsilon_0E$$
\end{document}

EDIT: I should mention, that everything works fine on both machines when I use pdflatex instead of xetex.

I still have no idea what was going wrong, but upgrading to TeXLive 2009 fixed the problem.
