X.org nv driver

Where can I find out if the x.org nv driver supports my video card which is a GeForce 8800 GTX?

ETA: I'm running Debian Etch.

It isn't X.org nv driver; it's the kernel nv driver. It will provide 2d graphics for nvidia cards. If you want/need 3d, you will have to install the nvidia driver from the nvidia website.

I believe we've had that before. There is a workaround, but I think for now there is no stable driver for the 8800 series.

I agree the driver from nvidia's site will be much better. Make sure you have your kernel source and headers installed. If you would like to see what is supported with the nv driver you can use 'man nv' from a console or terminal window.
