Wireless signal strength meter?

Are there any softwares for *nix similar to Cisco's Link Status Meter for Windows?

I don't know what Cisco Link Status Meter does, but the wireless-tools package - which you probably have installed if you have used a wireless card - provides functionality for displaying signal and noise levels if that's what you're looking for. For example, scanning for networks will return this information (iwlist <device> scan).
