In general: try registering the classes it complains about and copy the missing dlls from a windows installation.

And it would really help if you wrote exactly what program you want to start. I assume you have checked the winehq application db?

Remember, it's alpha software, so you may find that particular programs won't work at all - but keep trying with every new version!

Perhaps you could try asking more specialised people, like on a wine mailing list.

Got it working

I got it working. you will see it on http://appdb.winehq.org/ in a few hours/days

1)copy MSVBVM60.DLL (the one provided TO ME by janasoftware after emailing them) to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system
(Maybe your version is good enough too, just search for this file on the net)

2)copy following files from winxp/system32/ to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system:

hid.dll
mci32.ocx
tabctl32.ocx
comdlg32.ocx
comctl32.ocx
comct232.ocx
HIDagentXControl1.ocx

3)
$cd ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system/
$wine regsvr32.exe *.ocx

4) run Guitar Power, register, enjoy!

I am using gentoo w/ wine-0.9.2.
