1) go here to download the .rpm file - make sure you download the one appropriate for your cpu type.

2) after you've downloaded the package, go to the directory you downlaoded to and type this:

# rpm -ivh wine-20031212.i386.rpm
replace "wine-20031212.i386.rpm" with whatever the actual filename is.
3) i think that's pretty much it for installing. it'll make a fake c:\ directory and wine config files in your home directory if installed correctly. sometimes it doesn't, and if this is the case, report back.
to run a win application, let's say "application.exe" for example, do this:

wine application.exe
in the directory "application.exe" is in. that's it.
