i realy would like your opinion about this.
because i tried to find simular programs which runs on linux, but i didn't find great 3D programs like 3D s max, and i only found 1 project which is still under development which is simular to flash MX )
i never made popups.
i eurn my living making graphical content
i work at : www.dna-projects.com at the moment.
( the site is now currently updated )
i realy need a simular program like 3D s max..
my job description is Graphic Designer.
i design / Edit graphics for movies / flash movies
( maybe you have seen some graphical effects of mine in movies which where distrubitated bij 9MM , i get 90 % of all there movie editing / visual effects etc )
i also design game levels with it for example: quake / counterstrike etc
but they are just in "mod" versions of those games.
but thanks for the other tips
i'm realy happy now since i am onmoste ready to get rid of Windows ( i hate windows :P)
The place to go for those looking to kick the M$ habit is here. If anyone has any experience with getting a 3D program to work (there are a few listed) I would be glad to hear of it. I'm not a graphic artist however as an network technician I like to dabble in all things computer and have found GIMP to be excellent for image manipulation (go figure) but I like Sodipodi for basic graphic creation (squares, boxes, stars, et cetera). It kind of sux having two programs to replace on but then you look at the pricetag of PhotoshopCS compared to that of GIMP and Sodipodi and you can't help but fix yourself a nice bowl of shuttheheckup. Hope this helps.

Maya I think has a Linux version of thier 3d software, but i am not sure you can make something with it like you are talking about.. anyway I thought i would throw this up for ya..
I don't know if it is what you are looking for, but Blender is very much like Maya. It is available for WIndows and Linux and is free....check it out....
I would have to agree. Bluefish is an excellent tool. I use it exclusively for creating/maintaining the 4 sites in my charge. Be warned however, it is NOY a WYSIWYG web editor (like that bloated P.O.S. FrontPage), you're gonna need to know HTML, CSS, JScript or whatever else you want to use....
Hi there
I'm a web designer / 3d Animator and have just upgraded to Linux (SuSE 9.1).
I run a wacom intuous tablet, Maya 6, photoshop 7, Illustrator 10, flash mx , dreamweaver mx and IE 6 - all in linux (the later for web development purposes only). All of these apps, bar maya, require codeweavers crossover plugin to werk. I use version 3.01.
After 2months, without having to launch my dual boot version of XP to get a job finished, I can finally say that I've migrated to linux as a designer without to much trouble. The initial setup and learning curve was the major expense for me. My ATI 9200 gfx card, whilst detected, didn't support 3d acceleration out of the box. Getting it to werk taught me alot about linux, which was good... but not what I wanted at the time. Now I've finally managed to get both 3d support and dual monitor support enabled. Printer setup was a breeze. Getting access to my ntfs external usb drive was an exercise in google research, but werked out well. I ended up buying a second drive, formatting it as 'ext3' and copying the ntfs data into it. Its alot easier to find applications that can read and write to ext3 than to ntfs. Windoze doesn't like to share or play nice with the any other kids in the playground.
As far as applications go, I found this link to be absolutely priceless when kitting out my studio with linux supported applications: http://www.linuxforum.com/forums/ind...howtopic=53452 (Its the article by Dark_Night - 3posts down)
Hope this all helps.
