I do not know whether the Chinese member can write in English.

The preposition "within" does not necessarily mean "cd".

No, you did not say "run it WITHIN the Trash folder".
You said "should work fine within the Trash folder". See below:

The two verb phrases "run it" and "work fine" have different meanings.

The entire question is answered if you bothered to take it in context. You asked how to delete problematic files from the Trash folder. The answer was "run rm -fr from within the trash folder", which is 100% correct. Try to spin it however you'd like, but either you didn't read the answers you've been given by me and others, or you didn't understand them.

And if this 'he or she' isn't your friend, why are you posting questions for them???

Have you ever tried to help someone who is not your friend?
When a total stranger asks you for help, will you just say "No" to him or her even if lending a helping hand is a piece of cake?

Perhaps the best way to help strangers is to advise the use of a translator to get help for themselves. Google Translate, or any of many other online translators, allows anyone to input text in any language and get a translation to any other language. I've used it for Chinese translations many times, and as far as I can tell (I know zero Chinese, so I cannot guarantee anything) it does an adequate job. Not perfect, but seemingly adequate. Using a third party for whom English is also a second language may introduce even more misunderstandings than a direct translation. But I do also understand that accessing foreign internet sites from China can be problematic. If this method is necessary, so be it.

It has been over 2 days since you were given at least two methods you could suggest to resolve this problem, given in posts 5 and 7. Have you given those suggestions to that person? Has s/he tried them? Have they responded? Have you tested creating a file with the name posted and deleting it in your own system before suggesting it to the person on the other forum? If so, you would see that they both delete the file.

If there is actually a file as shown in post 1 with back slashes that could be part of the problem and it is discussed in post 2. The method shown in that post to attempt to delete fails but the rm command works. If you are trying to help this person, I would expect you would test commands before suggesting them.

Please stop with this splitting-hairs nonsense. Or do you honestly expect us to believe that you're asking on behalf of some person who came up to you on the street and randomly asked for advice with Linux???

Again: you've been given exact commands that 100% work, despite you trying to claim that "work fine" is somehow vague. Either run the commands or don't. Not much point in going further with something not only very simple, but amply answered at this point.

No, I did not see the person on the street. I saw his or her question on a Chinese forum.
My post #1 contains a link to the question.

It was not a random question. I answered the question, but my answer was not helpful, so I sought help from LinuxQuestion.org.

I did the same thing last year on ElevenForum. See: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/is-it-...rmatted.31124/

Post #5 was written by me. I already asked the person to run the command shown in post #5.

No, I did not do such a test before I asked the person to run the command shown in post #5.
I do not know whether the person has run the command because he or she has not posted a reply since I asked him or her to run the command shown in post #5.

I have just used Google Translate to translate the Chinese text. See the output below:

Why can't files generated by WPS be emptied after being deleted to the Recycle Bin?
1. Files in the Recycle Bin
2. Delete
3. System prompt

The command is not 100% correct because "cd" is missing.
The preposition "within" does not serve as a replacement for "cd".

That was a typo in my last post as I meant post 3 which is a little more specific as it only looks to delete files in that location beginning with HKEY_. Post 7 shows a command which if run from the proper location does the same thing. The output in your initial post shows a command being run from the proper location. We don't know if what you posted initially was copied from the other forum post or from something you were doing. Is the command you posted in your first post to remove the file what you suggested on the other forum? It deleted a file I created as a test as did the other 2 commands which were suggested.

In post 27 you indicate you did not run the command you suggested. Why not, that's simple enough to do and verify. I just did and only from curiosity and found some interesting things.

If the quote in red fonts in post 28 are the complete contents of the question at the other forum, it's pretty useless as a question and would need much more detail as to exactly what steps the person took to delete the files
