where should I put the SSLPassPhraseDialog


I read the below link and want to put the SSLPassPhraseDialog to .conf file.

SSLPassPhraseDialog exec:/etc/httpd/conf/passphrase

I tried to put the below to <virtual> , <Directory> but fail , it pops SSLPassPhraseDialog can not add to it , can advise where I should put it ?

Hi,

You didn't mention your distro, but usually there is a ssl.conf file that holds all the ssl related configuration of apache. So you should stick the SSLPassPhraseDialog in it

We use debian ,

I read this link , it said change the configuration in httpd.conf not ssl.conf , besides , I can't find ssl.conf in my server , can advise what can i do ? thx

Well, debian does not use httpd.conf and ssl.conf. It uses apache2.conf instead.
Anyway have a look at this howto that explains everything you want.

but I just use apache 1.3.x not apache 2 , and I am wonder that I find that it should be add this to httpd.conf ( the link I provided ) .

I have google about it , I found someone put it to <IfModule mod_ssl.c> container , but I do not have this container , can advise where should i put it in my httpd.conf

You should have mentioned it from the beginning along with your distro.
Anyway here is the official debian documentation on this. See also the users comments beneath it
