Where is readline on Linux?

I would like to write some software using readline in linux.
Does anybody know where the readline header file is?

I've used readline in netbsd before and the header file is in /usr/include/readline.

I'm using ubuntu (so I've installed the readline-common and libreadline4 packages), but I've looked in redhat as well. I can't find the header file.

Thanks.

In a console, try
Code:
locate releadline.h
In my Suse installation, it's located at /usr/include/guile-readline/readline.h.

That didn't seem to work.

I've also try "fine / -name readline*"

Any other thoughts?

If you have libreadline4 installed and want the header files, you need to install libreadline4-dev.
