Whea support in Linux

I want to know where I can get details about Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA) that is supported by ACPI 5.0 spec support in Linux.
My Bios shows ERST Could not register with persistent storage error in Ubuntu linux

Searching the 'net for WHEA / APEI should get you to the ACPI development mailing list but maybe it could help if you start by attaching as plain text (or posting)complete 'dmesg' output after booting the machine.

let me guess that is a computer that came installed with win8 or at some time has had win8 installed on it... if that is the case you will need the newest vs of Ubuntu or better yet Fedora 18 to get around that issue.

If it truly is nothing but an ACPI issue, then either your BIOS is old and you need to set it to the older type of support (disable acpi) or you have hardware that is not compatible.

please post what unSpawn requested for better help.
