Yeah, something that's easily useable, and doesn't have the constant bugs and needed updates.....ya know user friendly....than again, WINE might be user friendly and I'm just new to teh Linux community....

guygriffiths 12-23-2003 05:37 PM

Nope, wine's a bastard

oicdn 12-23-2003 08:28 PM

LOL, gotcha....

Ciccio 12-24-2003 08:37 AM

wine is hard to conffigure, but once you get it to work it's just wine game.exe and it works...

Configuration is what sucks.....

rhl_one 12-24-2003 12:15 PM

How bout WinMediaPlayer9.:tisk:

oicdn 12-24-2003 01:33 PM

Bah...Mplayer can do everything that can....

Ciccio 12-24-2003 04:22 PM

Let's get serious people... what we REALLY need on linux is a native Microsoft Internet Explorer!!

XD

A little notice to WMP vs Mplayer discussion. The latter doesn't have unique identification number that is able to be tracked down for what ever customer behaviour research purposes.

oicdn 12-24-2003 05:26 PM

^^AMEN TO THAT!!!!!

I'd like to see CDex, as well as the mainstream Windows games (with the soft-GPU capabilities intact). ...other than that, the only other title I want to see for Linux, the NetZero ZeroPort, is in the works for Linux. I also think Linux needs some decent (real) MP3 rippers and players. (that's the big reason I put CDex). I think the biggest porting challenge is the legal end.

...as far as Internet Explorer, I gotta shoot that down. :tisk: The last thing we need in Linux is a Microsoft takeover, piracy of personnal information (like I caught XP doing) or a virus hole. That's exactly why I use Mozilla.

Like so many others, Dreamweaver and Photoshop. In my oppinion, The gimp doesnt cut it, Photoshop still rocks my world when it comes to grfx editing.
I would also love to have FlashFXP ported. There have been some attempts into making a FlashFXP clone, but none of which have been even close to successful. Of course, when it comes to sheer download, lftp does the job, but even there the queuing is a bitch and FlashFXP makes things easier...

In case people didn't know, the url below lists a bunch of equivalents between linux and windows, I'm sure there are tons of ports that are unneeded because this list is BIG...
