Oh, and SPSS for social science people... Someone is working on it, but it still is at a too early stage I believe.

WYSIWYG Web Designer.
WYSIWYG ?? What You See Is What You Get. A fully drag and drop, type it up HTML Web Page Designer.
I know the windows version was unstable, hence it was withdrawn from the market back in the late 90's but Claris HomePage 3 was and still is the method that I choose to use to make all my sites and is probably the best and easiest page designer to use. It doesn't add 'crap' to the pages and is so simple to use. I would like to see it ported to linux and I'd pay the full price I payed for the 'W' version back in the 90's. 89 British pounds. It runs well under wine but could still be a bit more stable. Maybe they (Claris) should let us have the source and see what we can do with it. Maybe we could bring it up-to-date with regards to php script too. Here's wishing! |
My list:

I'm a really trying to push Linux to family and friends. (Mostly because I get tired of hearing about their spy ware and virus problems)
What I'd like to see is more Games and Driver support. Especially the older ones. oh and the online games like "Habbo Hotel" or something like that. (My cousin plays it) My mom and dad love their slot games. Out of all the games they have I can only get about 1% working under WineX/Cedega and I've even tired win4lin and vmware without much luck. I can't even get the games from the cereal boxes to work. The main thing is it's mom and dad. They like what their used to and currently for games they plug in a CD and go. Linux is not so automatic. As for in my house I'm 99% Linux. (Just us windows for Oracle iMeeting) I even emulated my old atari and c64 games using xmess. There's my two cents. |
i would port 4 of my famil members to linux if there wes a nice video conference support for linux (yahoo messenger or msn) maybe at last skype will release video support - this will be revolution in my family

It was an excellent Dos based symbolic algebra package. Easy to use, pretty good at solving & simplifying very gnarly algebra. http://education.ti.com/us/product/s...derivedos.html I see it has a glui windowy companion... http://education.ti.com/us/product/s...tures/bid.html The thing I liked about the dos version was the really good tui. |
Program to upload my mp3s to my Samsung YP-MT6X, then I could wipe my hands clean of XPs crap.

I'd like the ability to use mpegs as storage for film footage and them be able to piece them together.
If you have massive storage you can save film or should i call it moving media but surely getting the raw files into a compressed format and then being able to play about with it from there should be possible? I can do it with many commercial home use Windows DVD creation Apps, but can not as yet get Kino etc to look at an Mpeg file. Mad Malc  |
Love this site!
I would like to see IDM software's UltraEdit ported over. http://www.ultraedit.com/

iTunes, or something that...
I will be getting my iPod mini via ups in a couple of days. While I am not a person who is concerned with image or style, I needed a good MP3 type player, and I ran into a nice offer in a forum that I frequent, so I bought it after bargaining.
I would like to get something iTunes, or something that will let me get on the iTunes site and browse, order, etc. I just learned about sharpmusique, but I can't figure out how to do the ./configure, as it is having trouble getting it to work. If there are any other apps out there, and that will run on SuSE, particularly KDE, can someone let me know? I'd be tickled to life. IYKWIM... |
The "official" MSN Messenger so I can see and use all of the custom smilies, winks and stuff.
