As for Dreamweaver, I sent an E-Mail to the Macromedia place and let them know many here want Linux Versions of their products. Me I want Shockwave so I can have the SWF work correctly. Without Shockwave and only Flash Player installed, they SWF files only have video and no audio.

Haven't had any problems with shockwave personally. I'm a flash junkie. The shockwave files require a different plugin. Seems to work ok for me.

Besides GXine what are you using??

I need that one too...the issue is, I use Firefox, not Konqurer. Forefox is a lot better for me to browse the net with.

Mozilla= MozillaFoundation Internet Suite

Brwose the Internet and e-mail too, and even creat content withthe built in HTML editor.

Yes you are right there, and yes I also use Firefox.

Gxine is a Media Player. It plays Internet Radio and CD's too. Similar to Winamp in a lot of ways.

Hope this clears up the confused appearance on the top of your face.

Alrighty then. I know Mozilla. Duh.
What's between your thighs and GXine I'm not as familiar with. I use Moz. Composer to write web pages.
The confuzlled look on my face is semi-permanent. Can you help? Like I said before: NTGL (Need to get ...)

Blushes,

Ok Mozilla it is. I just updated to todays trunk of firefox and thunderbird.

For HTML I think I am going to be using the KDE HTML editor Quantas Plus. I can't get NVU to work here, or that is what I would normally use.

Gxine is a niice program. Do you use Gnome or KDE as your desktop? In KDE it is in the Multimedia menu and it's fun.

Now for the help.....what kind?? I do Video, Sound, and Slackware Installs. PKG Upgrades and Firefox/Thunderbird.

What is your needs? Besides a b*d room and a bottle.

dsschanze 04-04-2005 02:30 PM

If you ask me, Mozilla Internet Suite is better than firefox or thunderbird.

Well actually I don't recall asking :D but your opinion is welcome.

I perfer Firefox and Thunderbird. But then that is what Linux is, your PC, my PC. not the WinPC.

Mozilla Suite is ok, but does not meet my needs, as it may meet yours.

To each is the choice of what we choose. For without that choice, we would all be M$ junkies.

dsschanze 04-04-2005 03:35 PM

Spoken very truly about M$!

Much so, and of course Igot an e-mail from Rick at AW and they say it would be too hard to port AW to Linux and take up too many resources. Hey, send me the source and then let me talk with the one person there that uses linux and we can get a linux version of AW out and that would generate revenue. Think, TCO fro Linux and Windows.

Linux Free to install and work with -- Support is what you pay for, in some cases it's better than ms costs.

Windows 100.00 to 399.00 per seat. Just to get windows and install it, no support.

Linux - Crashes just reinstall it and get all your updates via FTP and install them and in no more than one full day you can be up and running wiht little or no cost.

Windows - Crashes, call to M$ support 95.00 an incident. To install it, would take some where more than one full day to do all the software installs, and then all the updates. Cost - over 500.00 in time and effort.

So who is better at TCO?

Information is truth, especially when it happens to you.

Don't let this happen to you, Get Linux, any Distro, there are 1000's of programs out there to use free of charge or even at some nominal fee. The OS is basically free to use and install as long as any modiffications are set by the GNU licensing.

That is my rant for the day. Rants. Hacks, tips tricks, not in Windows. Only in Linux can you change things to your needs.

mrGenixus 04-04-2005 06:42 PM

My productivity enhanced by the fact that I don't have to reinstall my distribution (debian) when / if it get broken.

BUT:

Can we stay on topic?

khz 04-04-2005 06:51 PM

I prefer firefox to mozilla cause its faster. I work on old machines. As far as what could help=Benne. I was talking about something totally inappropriate. Yes its true, I'm horny. But my mind is completely wrapped around the plight of delivering communicae to the populous. So join me or die. Love to all. Peace. Fierce love. Fierce peace. We are.
