That's interesting I was not aware of ClipCache, I am going to test the MS windows version. I suggest one particular feature of "Greatis Toy" - its clipboard saver feature (I don't use any of its other features). It is very simple as it is text only clipboard history (max depth of 50) saver and hot key to allow you to pick an old history entry and paste it to any input in any program. I think "Parcellite" package does clipboard history it sounds like it may make one global shared clipboard that all GUI programs can use (see http://bit.ly/1iWqccC). Any MS-Windows user converts given Linux a true MS windows like clipboard behavior?

Although, I'm almost certain they won't.
Have you tried http://web.skype.com with firefox or chrome - You will probably find only messaging not video/audio support so far but maybe a 3rd party could add to that. MS building it maaaaay beeeee a possibilty.

In case you haven't tried it I feel I should point to Midnight Commander If it doesn't fit the bill then fair enough.
I believe Wine + total commander are worth looking at but it is not perfect under Wine. I wish Total commander was ported to Linux.

Personally, I use ClipIt in XFCE under Debian and there are others...

Lightbulb What programs would you like to see ported to Linux?

Hi, one simpler program: IrfanView. There's nothing simpler, smart but powerful for simple (and not so simple: image resizing, color adjustment and deep reduction, and batch processing over all) image manipulation software on Linux. I bet no one can contradict me... Bye p.

Yes, you're right there is nothing like that for Linux at all.

Try Amaya (www.w3.org/Amaya/). It has a nice split view WYSIWYG and code. It also enforces strict W3C adherence. It isn't in depositories, but the web site has DEB and RPM and source packages, and it keeps getting updated.

NoteWorthy Composer is a very nice music editor. It outperforms every Linux music editor that I have tried, being easier to use. Wine does run NoteWorthy Composer, although inconsistently system to system, playback often not working on Linux. So I have to save *.midi and sometimes change to *.mp3 or *.wav. I suspect porting it to Linux might fix that. I would buy Linux-ported NoteWorthy Composer.
