I currently run a A64 Platform with Windows XP SP2, and wanna try out a Linux that makes use of my 64bit CPU (no matter what advantage or dissadvantage).
You could try SuSE. You will have to either download, burn and boot from the network install CD image or buy it. Or you could go the less newbie-friendly (but well documented) Gentoo route.
