I've installed gaim and it wont receive files as yahoo, wont send or receive or direct IM as AIM, does it do ANYTHING right?!?!
It does, work. But I believe that file transfer is currently unsupported for all protocols with exception of jabber. Someone correct me if I'm wrong . Plus, hey, it's Linux. If you need file transfer, make a ftp server, it should not take your more then a couple of minutes to have something professional running, with resume functions and multiples users

[B]a linux vs of Quickbooks. not quicken. i need a small business linux based accounting software package that is as easy to use as Quickbooks.
Nothing I've found is as easy as QuickBooks, but Quickbooks does some pretty stupid things, automagically. I now use SQL-Ledger, it is very nice.
You can also run Quickbooks 2000 under CrossOver or if you must use QuickBooks 2001 or higher, purchase Win4Lin ($90) load a 98 session under Linux and it will run great - very fast and stable.
I used to use Appgen, but since the company changed hands they only offer the more expensive version and I like the idea of an open source (sql-ledger) accounting package.
I have several clients that are stuck with AutoCad. If there was a fully compatible Linux version, they would all move from Windows to Linux.
AutoCad is amoving target, but there has to be someone who can equal or better them.
Megaman X; Yeah gaim, it works good- but still we're all missing the beloved webcam function... errrhhhm, darn, can't interact with thoose lovely sweeties across the pond...
