what about 3D


is there any equivelant (free or commercial ) to (3ds max) or (Maya) on linux?

I dont use Linux yet but I know that there is Alias|Wavefront Maya, Softimage and also Wings3d which is actually free. Maya actually has a learning edition too which is free.

But which one is more flexible (has the maximum number of tools) ?
i'm just a beginner trying to learn about them all ? linux and 3D modeling

Blender is the king of 3D on Linux.

And not only Linux. I find it much more productive and flexible than Lightwave, and i'd rather use Python to script it than some "LScript" any day.

Ive never used Blender, is the modelling as easy and featured as Max or LW or Maya?
