maybe one more thought:
there are quite a few alternative web services out there for free (free.de comes to mind and autistici.org, but many linux-related, too). if you need fairly little space and are able to explain why, these are reasonable alternatives.
a virtual server might be another good alternative (in the long run).
there, too, are some alternative options.
just make sure you get one with a normal debian install, or even bare metal.
i remember one in particular that was called "almost free <something>"...
Man, those are some funky sites. free.de is in German. On Autistci I kind of felt like Edward Snowden. Ha ha. Just kidding.
i don't know what your definition of "funky" is, but they are trustworthy.
fyi, free.de has been around for decades (since 1991).
for a while i used autistici.org as my primary email provider, but google (again!) insisted in seeing it as spam. apart from that, they would have been perfect.
