weird x windows problem
When I use xterm (and some other apps as well), some words and letters sort of "jump out" of the window and gets displayed elsewhere on the screen, forcing me to refresh screen every now and then. What causes this?

Looks like a broken driver. What video card do you have?

From XFree86 website:
Quote:
26. Paradise/Western Digital
3.3.6:
Support for the Paradise PVGA1 and the Western Digital WD90C00, 90C10, 90C30, 90C24, 90C31 and 90C33 chipsets is provided by the XF86_SVGA server with the pvga1 driver. The status of the support for some of these chipsets is uncertain because we don't have any recent test reports, and this driver has no maintainer.
4.3.0:
No Paradise/Western Digital chips are supported, because the old driver has not been ported.
Summary:
No Paradise/Western Digital chips are supported in 4.3.0.

So if your problem is realy anoying, install an older distro, with XFree86 version 3.3. Then it should work.
